FORMATION

Sunday Morning and Beyond

YMO Fall Retreat 2016

GROWING IN GRACE

We believe that spiritual formation is vital to children's development.  Formation is at the heart of everything we do at Grace.  From Baptism to Children's Chapel through Confirmation to Missions, we strive to lay a strong foundation for a life dedicated to service beyond self and leadership in faith.

TACKO - MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP

TACKO is Grace's youth group for middle school aged students, grades 6 through 8.  TACKO meets Sunday nights from 6:00 to 7:30 in the Parish Hall at Grace.  We begin with sharing dinner together, then spend time building community with activities, games, and discussions.  TACKO includes several outreach projects, as well as our annual fall retreat and laser tag.  All middle schoolers are invited to attend.

YMO - HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP

The Youth Missions Organization is a dynamic, faith-based leadership development program for high school students.  Since its founding in 1987, the Youth Missions Organization has worked with thousands of students from all over the world.  YMO began as a response to a social injustice and a desire to change the world.  YMO’s vision has remained true to this initial spark – you can change the world.

The mission of the Youth Missions Organization is to teach youth about the love of Christ through action -  via local and global missions.  To that end, YMO seeks to:

-          Develop students as leaders in their faith

-          Build the Church

-          Seek Christ in all people

-          Extend ourselves into the mission field

Our mission is to journey from the Me, to the We, to the One.

If you are interested in participating in the Youth Missions Organization, join us every Sunday night at 6:00pm at the Rectory at 142 E. First Street.  All high school youth are welcome!

Missions 2016

TACKO - Fall Retreat 2016

We gather and celebrate in many settings, from the high holy days of Christmas and Easter  to the casual and intimate gatherings of Saturday evenings and retreats.  We come to seek Christ in ourselves and each other.

Worship on Sunday mornings includes Children's Chapel during the 10:00 service.   We believe it is important for families to begin worship together.  Children process out of the church before the Gospel and return at the Peace.  All children age 3 through 5th grade are welcome to attend Children's Chapel.  During Chapel, the Gospel story is presented in age-appropriate contexts and is supported with engaging stories and activities.

As leaders in faith, students in 4th grade and up are invited to serve during worship as acolytes, readers, chalice bearers, servers, ushers, choristers, and Chapel assistants.

Our core values and the Gospel stories are carried beyond Sunday morning to Academy Chapel on Wednesday mornings.

Service Beyond Self

Visiting Eve Assisted Living

The sacraments are an outward and visible sign of one's own spiritual journey.  Baptism is the continual invitation to awakening.  Grace Church offers Baptism during the church year on the following high holy days:  The Baptism of Our Lord (January); Easter Vigil; and Pentecost, and occasional services in the summer and fall.  Confirmation is held every other year.  If you are interested in baptism or confirmation, please contact the Church office.

OUTREACH

Service beyond self is a vital part of the mission of Grace Academy and we provide opportunities for all children of Grace, from our youngest toddlers through our young adults, to reach outside themselves to serve others.  We strive to instill this value through hands-on activities and projects in order to discover the poverty within our own lives.  Including the Youth Missions Organization's annual missions trip, other outreach projects include a diaper drive for HCS Family Services; baking bread for the Aurora Soup Kitchen; volunteering for Feed Our Starving Children; and visiting Eve Assisted Living.
